Beverly (Owner)

Brides of Today was created because I was a curvy/plus-sized woman all my life. When I attended school in the 50’s/60’s I was teased but at that time it was not considered “bullying”, it still hurt the same.
​
I could never wear the style clothing of my peers since at that time there were only 2 stores that carried “big girls” clothing. Those clothes were not styled for a teenager but were matronly by today’s standards. I truly understand the curvy/plus-sized woman very well due to my past.
​
When you enter my salon, I want you to feel confident and comfortable. While trying on gowns, I want you to look in the mirror at yourself and hear all the comments; “look how gorgeous you are”, “look how this gown shows your confidence and personality”, “your groom is going to cry when he sees you walking down the aisle towards him”.​​

I have been working as a bridal stylist since 2006. People ask why I love what I do? Easy, I love the feeling I get when I help a young lady find her dream gown. This is why I enjoy customizing and making her dream gown become reality. When the gown arrives, I am not sure who is more excited, the bride or myself to see the finished product. The job is an extremely rewarding one.

Fun fact: Every time a box arrives that has a gown in it, either a clients or stock, it's like Christmas day with excitement!!
